Trade Check separates business verification, individual credential status and contractor qualification. They work together, but they do not mean the same thing.

Verified means the business completed the required core verification process.

Accredited builds on Verified with additional applicable commercial, insurance, safety and qualification requirements.
Additional applicable commercial requirements currently satisfy the Accredited level.
Trade Check shows the condition of individual records so users can see what is current, what is still being reviewed and what needs attention.
The credential has been reviewed and currently satisfies the applicable requirement.

Records reviewed before the work begins
A business may appear in Trade Check before completing independent verification. We clearly separate available business information from information Trade Check has actually reviewed.
Trade Check does not assume a company is unsafe, unreliable or unqualified because it has not completed verification.
Verification tells you what has been checked. Qualification tells you whether those verified records satisfy a defined hiring requirement.
Identity, licensing, insurance, business records and other applicable credentials.
Verified records are compared with the requirements that apply to the contractor or hiring organization.
Qualification against defined requirements

Trade Check can identify the verification method behind a record so users can distinguish verified evidence from information that has only been provided by the business.

Information was supplied by the business and has not been independently verified.
Customers usually need to know whether a credential was reviewed and whether it is current. They do not need access to every private document used to establish that status.
A Trade Check profile is designed to show more than a badge. It can show the individual records and verification methods behind the current status.
Businesses can pay Trade Check for verification, monitoring, platform access and membership services. The underlying record determines the verification and qualification outcome.
